The "Don't Wanna Know" music video has finally arrived

The brand new music video for Maroon 5's new single, "Don't Wanna Know", featuring Kendrick Lamar, finally premiered earlier this morning (Fri, Oct 14) on The Today Show.

The band collaborated with friend and producer David Dobkin once again to film the video, who also directed the band's hit video "Sugar", which became 2015's most controversial music videos. The music video is chock full of cameos from multiple movie actors such as Sarah Silverman as Adam Levine's love interest, Vince Vaughn, Ed Helms, Shaquille O'Neal, and Jesse Carmichael smoking a blunt.

Maroon 5 just premiered the Kendrick Lamar-assisted single earlier this week on Tuesday and has maintained 1.5 million streams via Spotify and 3.5 million streams via YouTube Music. However, the music video version of "Don't Wanna Know" does not feature Lamar's 18-second rap verse as heard in the original.

Watch the video:

Adam Levine, also a coach on NBC's reality television show The Voice and recently a new father to his child Dusty Rose Levine, called into Ryan Seacrest's radio show On Air with Ryan Seacrest. Levine talked about how he writes Maroon 5 songs in the perspective of getting his heart broken, on being a new father, and having a crappy relationship to maintain a happy life.

"Don't Wanna Know", featuring Kendrick Lamar, has finally arrived

The moment has finally come. Maroon 5's brand new single, "Don't Wanna Know" is now out. The new single, featuring Interscope labelmate Kendrick Lamar, premiered on Tuesday night.

The music video for "Don't Wanna Know" is scheduled to premiere this Friday, October 14th on NBC's The Today Show and will subsequently become available to stream on Vevo the same day. The Los Angeles-bred pop band will be performing the new single on The Ellen Show on Thursday, November 3rd and later next month on NBC's show The Voice on Monday, November 28th.

The new single is not a direct single to an upcoming album from Maroon 5, as it serves as a stand-alone single. In an interview with HuffingtonPost Entertainment, guitarist James Valentine confirmed that the band were entering the studio later this year to begin production for their sixth studio effort.
"We have some more songs in various states of progress that we'll be working on at the end of this year and the beginning of next year," said Valentine.

Maroon 5's last commercial release was "Feelings", the fifth single taken from the group's fifth studio effort V, which was released to top 40/pop radio in September of last year. A music video was reportedly shot in Los Angeles, California last August, but was allegedly tossed.

'The Voice' recap: Team Adam is ready for Voice Battles

Team Adam for "The Voice" season 11 following the blind auditions.
The Voice coach Adam Levine has a team full of winners

What might be one of the most diverse cast of The Voice contestants ever seen on coach Adam Levine's team, might just be holding the winner of season 11. Why you may ask? Because diversity seems to be key in recent wins of the hit NBC show.

The Voice blind auditions for this season kicked off just over two weeks ago with the explosive introduction of two new coaches, Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus, who each brought their A game and were never not a challenge for veteran coaches Blake Shelton and Levine to face.

We have put together all of the blind auditions from contestants over the course of the season so far who have joined Team Adam and will be continuing onward to the famous "Voice Battle" rounds next week. Take the time to watch, listen, and check out Team Adam below.

Riley Elmore

A true, young, and yet seemingly experienced R&B, jazz crooner Riley Elmore of W. Dundee, Illinois auditioned by performing Frank Sinatra's "The Way You Look Tonight", which obviously grabbed coach Adam's attention right off the bat. Maroon 5 covered "The Way You Look Tonight" in the studio for a Sinatra tribute album almost a decade ago and Levine has always shown his passion for Sinatra's work.

Andrew DeMuro

Andrew DeMuro of Chicago, Illinois auditioned by performing "Vienna", a smooth-sailing and classic Billy Joel hit, and caught the ear of coaches Blake Shelton and Adam Levine. Levine obviously persuaded DeMuro onto his team due to their mutual love for Billy Joel.

Billy Gilman

One of the most beautiful male performances of an Adele song ever to be presented on the show, Billy Gilman of Richmond, Rhode Island performed Adele's "When We Were Young" and got a four-chair turn from all of the coaches. Coach Levine tried a tad harder than the other coaches to get him on his team, and obviously worked.

Brendan Fletcher

Brendan Fletcher, who resides in Brooklyn, New York, auditioned by performing the ballad "Jolene" by Ray LaMontagne. Coaches Miley, Alicia, and Adam turned to which Fletcher ultimately chose to be on Team Adam.

Bindi Liebowitz

Often compared to the voices of Rihanna and Amy Winehouse, Bindi Liebowitz of Plainfield, New Jersey auditioned by singing the song "Bust Your Windows" Jazmine Sullivan. Coaches Blake and Adam faced off in a bicker-off which ended in Liebowitz choosing to be on Team Adam.

Elia Esparza

Elia Esparza took the risk of performing the Spanish dance hit "Como La Flor" for her blind audition, but ended up getting a three-chair turn, and Levine ended up luring her onto his already eclectic team.

Nolan Neal

By performing "Tiny Dancer" by the world famous Elton John, Los Angeles, California resident and musician Nolan Neal ended up catching the ear of all four coaches. However, Levine's passion for 80's pop music and mutual love for Elton John ended up persuading Neal onto Team Adam.

Simone Gundy

Arlington, Texas' Simone Gundy's audition of Tom Jones' "I (Who Have Nothing)" ended up impressing coaches Miley Cyrus and Adam Levine. Coach Levine ended up using real coaching methods to get her onto his team.

JSOUL ended up getting scrunched into a blind audition montage only for a minute, but the Virginia Beach resident and R&B singer ended up turning the chair of coach Adam Levine on the show by performing "Stay with Me" by Sam Smith.

Johnny Rez

Johnny Rez auditioned by performing the 1990's classic "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls and it was magical. He ended up turning the chairs of coaches Blake and Adam, but it was Adam's smooth coaching skills that got Rez to pick him.

Natasha Bure

Natasha Bure took on the incredible Elvis single, "Can't Help Falling in Love", for her blind audition which caught the attention of coach Adam Levine, who was the sole coach who turned for her.

Ponciano Seoane III

Singing "Home" by American Idol winner Phillip Phillips was a great choice for San Antonio man Ponciano Seoane who turned the chairs of coaches Miley and Adam, subsequently choosing to be on Team Adam.
