Maroon 5's sleepy fanbase has been woken up over the past week after leaked photographs of the members of the L.A. pop group were put up online of them dressed up as... Pokèmon? Okay, the aren't in any actual Pokèmon costumes, but it looks to be somewhat of a spin-off.

This could only mean one thing, right? Yup. Maroon 5 are shooting another goofy music video.

Thanks to JustJared, we have a major insight on what the next Maroon 5 music video will look like. It's not just Mr. Levine dressed up as a mysterious, goofy cartoon monster, but the entire band is dolled up in these monstrous costumes. It has been confirmed that David Dobkin returned as director for the music video and it will star actor Vince Vaughn. The music video was shot for the band's upcoming single, set to be released this fall.

Maroon 5 plan to start recording new album by the end of 2016

A new song from pop rock band Maroon 5 is in the works, and according to guitarist James Valentine, the new song will be "put out in between this record and our next record, which we just put the finishing touches on."

In an exclusive Huffington Post live interview on Facebook that occurred on Tuesday, August 23, Valentine also confirmed that a new music video for the new single was filmed recently and was directed by film director David Dobkin, who directed and produced Maroon 5's music video for "Sugar", one of the biggest and best-selling singles of 2015.

"We have some more songs in various states of progress that we'll be working on at the end of this year and the beginning of next year", Valentine also states in the HuffPost interview. After being asked about what direction Maroon 5is heading into musically for the next full-length, he said "The last couple of records we have experimented with a lot more electronic, more dance-oriented sounds and we've talked about making a record that was maybe a little more organic, back to the Songs About Jane sort of approach, but we'll have to see."

James Valentine also performed alongside The Roots on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday evening. You can check that out below.

New Maroon 5 single and music video expected to drop this September. The band will record the follow-up to 2014's V come later this year and will finish tracking by mid-2017.

After weeks and weeks of rumors circulating the fact that Maroon 5 was filming a music video for their brand new single, which has yet to be announced, the band's guitarist James Valentine has confirmed that the L.A. pop rock outfit have wrapped up a music video with director David Dobkin.

In a live Facebook video streaming Q&A session with HuffPost Entertainment, Valentine was asked about Maroon 5's music video "Sugar", which was also directed by Dobkin, and the development behind it. Soon after, he confirmed that Maroon 5 had just shot and edited a music video for their upcoming single with Dobkin as director once again.

It has not been confirmed, however, whether or not Maroon 5 shot their music video in Cuba as earlier reported from local Cuban news outlets.

David Dobkin is famously known for being the director and screenwriter for the motion picture films Wedding Crashers, The Change-Up, R.I.P.D, and The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

5 songs we need to hear on Maroon 5's North American tour

Maroon 5 performing live in 2014.
Maroon 5 need to play these 5 deep cuts on their upcoming U.S. tour

As we all know, Maroon 5 is embarking on what might their biggest and most expensive tour in North America yet, this fall. To help boost ticket sales and anticipation, electropop superstar Tove Lo will be the special guest on the tour, as well as support from hip hop duo R. City and indie pop supergroup PHASES on selected dates.

The massive tour will begin at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas on September 3rd and will conclude October 16th in Oakland, California at the Oracle Arena.

Maroon 5's headliners have slowly barrel rolled into greatest hits tours, as they keep pumping out No. 1 singles and chart-topping pop-perfected full-lengths. Their last tour in South American this summer consisted of 13 tracks being hit Maroon 5 singles, 1 being a cover of "Stereo Hearts" from Gym Class Heroes (which featured Adam Levine), and 1 other being a solo Adam Levine song cut from the soundtrack for 2014's film Begin Again. As rock-n-roll and eccentric their live show can be, it's time we some deep cuts and rarities on this North America tour.

Here's my short list of songs we need to hear on tour this fall.

5. "Never Gonna Leave This Bed", from the album Hands All Over (2010)

This pop rock power ballad from Maroon 5's 2010 studio album, Hands All Over, was and is still a huge fan favorite among the masses. "Never Gonna Leave This Bed" was released as single for contemporary radio in January 2011, however received little-to-no radio airplay. This was right before the band took a step towards dance-pop, whee five months later "Moves Like Jagger", featuring Christina Aguilera, was released to the world and made every Maroon 5 fan turn their heads in confusion.

4. "Won't Go Home Without You", from the album It Won't Be Soon Before Long (2007)

Just like "Never Gonna Leave This Bed", "Won't Go Home Without You" is one of Maroon 5's most underrated singles ever. From the band's 2007 album It Won't Be Soon Before Long, the song is easily one of their best from the 12 track record. The band performed it on every tour until their 2013 world tour and was likely replaced by "Love Somebody". What's going on, Maroon 5?

3. "Shiver", from the album Songs About Jane (2002)

"Shiver" is one Maroon 5's most badass songs ever released. Although not a single, the song proved that Maroon 5 were once true rock stars in the pop realm. "Shiver" was Maroon 5's choice for opening every set with for four years straight. Proof can be found in online archives of the band's full concerts from the early 2000s and on their live album Live - Friday the 13th. Seeing "Shiver" live would be massive and would put a massive smile on my face.

2. "Secret", from the album Songs About Jane (2002)

"Secret" is a beautifully written tune from Maroon 5's debut release, Songs About Jane. When performed live, the audience becomes horny and willing to scream along to every word.

1. "The Sun", from the album Songs About Jane (2002)

"The Sun" is definitely one of Maroon 5's best songs of all time. While there are at times cries of his vocals being too heavily produced, I find that they did a perfect job of capturing it, especially live. It was more unique when Songs About Jane was first released, but it still stands out over a decade later. A more surprising aspect of the band, however, is the fact that they are not performing it live nowadays.
