Maroon 5 is up for 2 major music awards at the 2015 TCA's

Earlier this week, the 2015 Teen Choice Awards revealed the first wave of nominees for this year's award ceremony, which acknowledges successful television shows, films, and music artists.

After a couple of weeks of fans casting their votes for their favorites to be nominated for the Teen Choice Awards, pop rock band Maroon 5 will be acknowledged for two awards at this year's show for Choice Song for "Sugar" and Choice Music Group: Male.

Maroon 5 was nominated for one category last year being Choice Rock Song for their single "Maps" (in which fans and music critics alike were puzzled about), and lost to Bastille's hit single "Pompeii." Overall, the Los Angeles based outfit has been nominated for 12 Teen Choice Awards since 2004 and have won a total of four ever since: Choice Breakout Artist (2004), Choice Rock Track for "This Love" (2004), Choice Break-Up Song for "Payphone" featuring Wiz Khalifa (2012), and Choice Summer Music Star: Group (2013).

The 2015 Teen Choice Awards will air LIVE on Sunday, August 16th at 8:00p/7:00p CT only on FOX.
